Perfect for Kids this weekend - Bugz Family Playpark

Three Words. Bugz Family Playpark.

For the most enjoyable family day you want to visit Bugz Family Playpark, the largest indoor and outdoor play park in Cape Town. Riding Horses, Quad Biking and Rowing boats makes this Playpark perfect for kids between the ages of 2 and 10.

There is an indoor party area offering 5 delightful party venues as well as a large undercover play area. Known for their quality of the food served, Bugz family play park is also a sought after place for parents who wish to indulge in a Monster Burger or a Farmer's breakfast while watching the kids play. Bugz hosts wonderful birthday parties at any of the 6 outdoor venues or the 5 indoor venues

For many children an outdoor activity may stretch their comfort zones and evoke hidden interests and skills that are usually suppressed by modern conveniences and technology. This experience challenges one physically, which in turn can lead to challenging one mentally.

"We offer a variety of holiday programmes that are sure to challenge and entertain children from ages 5 to 13 years.."

Bugz are striving to create an environment where kids can spend quality time with their parents. They have a safe environment with lawns, trees and a huge number of play equipment where kids can have a ball. Most of the rides are powered by the children themselves and parents therefore know that their kids are getting excellent exercise in a natural way. We have also created cute play areas such as dolls houses, tree houses and even a castle. We therefore also strive to stimulate the imagination of children.

Kalk Bays Biggest Secret

Kalk Bay Trading Post

Trading Post - Kalk Bay
Entrance of the famous Kalk Bay Trading Post.

If you can disappear for one day, live close to Cape Town or just want a relaxing afternoon, there is no better place to take a drive to than Kalk Bay.  This little town is easy accessible from Cape Town and is famous for its rich historic past, with perfect photographic views and of course it's great little Harbour.

The Trading Post was established 11 years ago and transformed out of the old railway station. The friendly staff assist you with silver ware, army uniform, treasures of coin and many more. The trading hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 on a daily base.

Kalk Bay
(Afrikaans: Kalkbaai) is a fishing village on the coast of False Bay, South Africa and is now a suburb of greater Cape Town. It lies in a beautiful setting, wedged between the ocean and sharply rising mountainous heights that are buttressed by crags of greysand. A literal translation from the Dutch/Afrikaans name "Kalkbaai" is "Lime Bay". The railway from the central business district of Cape Town to Simons Town passes through Kalk Bay and in some places the line is only meters from the water's edge.

Kalk Bay is also home to the famous surf spot named "Kalk Bay Reef". This is renowned for heavy barrels and the associated shallow reef. It is best surfed on a big south-easterly swell or a north west wind. In smaller swells low tide makes for better barrels.

Cape Town Classic Snoek Braai (Barbeque)

I am not sure where this recipe come's from, but what I am sure of is that once your tried this Snoek Braai, You will be HOOKED. This is a Cape Town Favorite among the fishermen and you can feed a family of up to 12 people.
Take a large sheet of foil, (more than double the size of the snoek) and place your snoek skin down on top of the foil. If possible use industrial foil or just fold your foil double to strengthen it.

Take a l x 500g butter and cut it into 7 blocks.

Pack the butter over the snoek and top it with loads of garlic, cheese, tomato and onion. Don't forget the salt and pepper.

Then take the florets of an large cauliflower and pack them on the snoek. Wrap the  snoek with the foil, but do not wrap it tight. There must be room for steam to build up.

Braai the snoek for about 45 min over a not to hot fire.

Why this method?

The garlic, butter and snoek blend will steam and flavor the cauliflower and gives it a crayfish taste.

Serve with fresh butter rolls......this will will serve 8 - 12 people.
